Philmer J. Ellerbroek (1905-1969) was an American modernist architect whose work was largely in the Newport Beach/Lido Isle/Balboa area. He designed homes for celebrities including Art Linkletter, Ray Milland, and many other affluent clientele. His work also included housing developments, commercial buildings, schools, and apartments.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kenoyer commissioned a second Ellerbroek designed home on Lido Isle. Although built on a narrow lot, he skillfully made use of strategically placed screens and dividers, many floor levels, high ceilings, and integration of the outdoors to give the home a more open, spacious look and feel. As with many of his projects, Ellerbroek used Boyd Callaghan of Cannell & Chaffin, a prestigious furniture and interior design company started in Los Angeles in 1917.
